FiNiShEd FiRsT YeAr Of CoLlEgE!

I finished my first year of college, Yay. I am in Mexico right now visiting my family. I actually leave on a bus in a few hours to go back to the states to do the second six weeks of the summer work program. All in all I'll be traveling for about 30 something hours, once again. I am sad to be leaving home, I wont get to see my family again for 6 months. I wish I could stay the whole summer but college doesn't pay for its self as you know. While I've been here in Mexico my mom has been trying to get me well. I've been sick for two semesters now, with a bad cough and lack of breathe. The doctor found that I had an infection in my lungs, throat, nose and ears. I'm getting better though with the medicine and rest that I needed.

I no longer work at the keeter center but have transfered to the laundry. I really like it there. My managers are great and so are the people I work with. Though I do work up at keeter for extra cash sometimes.

My brother, Khazad, got married in May and is living happily not far from the college, so hopefully I will still be able to hang out with him. We have a class together so that will help. And my oldest brother is off enjoying himself in Alaska eating good food and working at a  camp.

I've eaten a lot of Mexican food while I was here and I'll sure miss it, nothing like homemade cooking, and mexican food. So different from cafeteria food.

I best be going, just wanted to let you all know I'm still existing.

ClAsSeS.

It's been 211 days since I updated, I'm not even going to say anything about that.... *clears throat*

If I thought my schedule was busy during the summer I was wrong. I have never been busier in my whole life then right now. It's a good kind of busy though and I kind of like it.

Character camp was a whole lot of fun but the 10 days it lasted felt like a whole semester. Character camp is supposed to help us freshmen get acquainted with the campus and make some friends. Its 10 days of fun and listening to speakers. It ended the day before classes started. I wasn't really nervous when I went to my first class but it did exhaust me. I've gotten used to the routine of classes. I'm only taking 17 credit hours and one of those is Chapel Choir. That's probably my favorite class. That or Anatomy. Midterms were so stressful I didn't get hardly any sleep the whole week before. My chemistry and Anatomy test took up all my studying time and I thought for sure I would flunk all the other tests, but I didn't. I was extremely glad when Friday came along and my last test was over with.

I'm still working at the Keeter Center on campus but I don't work as a house keeper anymore, I work in the Gift Shop. It's so boring and I have a 9 hour shift on Wednesdays. I never think I'll live past it, but I do every time. I mess up the cashresgester sometimes and my boss gets fustrated and yells at me.

Emotionally I am doing pretty well (Me -----> ), I do miss home a whole lot especially the day before an anatomy test. I stress out over those test a lot more then I should. My mom calls me about every week since school started but some times I can only talk for 20 minutes because my schedule is so crazy and I have so much studying.

I have an 8am class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesday and Thursday my earliest class is at 9:30am. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday my classes go to 5:20pm and on Wednesday and Friday I go straight from my morning class to work until 8:30pm. As soon as I get off classes or work I go to my room and study. or to the Hospital (that's were us nersing majors study a lot) or Phiffier (one of the classroom buildings). Saturday I study around 10 hours and on Sunday I study 5. That's how much I have to study just to keep from drownding in my science classes. I don't have anytime to play around or even sleep. My friends are trying to get me to sleep more and I try but it's not working well. There's always more homework to do.

Well I guess that's enough about me.. I talk to much..*blushes*

Oh and if any of that sounded like complaining to you I didn't mean it too. I love my classes, my college, and my new life, pluse I'm the one who picked a diffecult major.

I miss you all so much! I'm glad I finally had a chance to sit down and do this.

SuMmEr WoRk PrOgRaM

Hey guys!

Sorry it's been so long since I last updated this thing. Let me brief you in what's been going on in my life since I came to the states.

Orientation went really well, I didn't really meet anyone but I got to see the hospital and meet my nursing instructor. I had no where to stay for a week because I wasn't allowed to stay in my dorm room till I started working and the work program didn't start till a week after orientation. So I went to ShadowOfTheLion's house. I had so much fun meeting her family and hanging out with her. I got back to my college on Sunday (I can't even remember the date now but it was in May.. the 26th or something.) and walked into The Keeter Center (That is where I was stationed to work. It's a hotel/restaurant) because there was supposed to be some ice cream social for us new freshmen working at the KC (Keeter Center). My new boss informed me that it had been canceled and that on Monday at 5 there was going to be a dinner for us instead. Debbi (my boss) asked me if I wanted to work that day so I wouldn't have as many hours to catch up on (see, the work week starts on Saturday not Monday...And us freshmen weren't going to be able to start working till Tuesday at 1pm... That's a lot of hours to catch up on.. 40 hours a week is what we have to do..anyways.) I said sure and started working right after I ran to get changed... That means right after I got off the bus from a 15 hour ride I immediately went to work and worked till 8pm. I was so tired I wanted to cry.. Probably just because it was all so overwhelming. That Tuesday at a meeting I got to meet all my fellow freshmen. Most of them are the kids I now hang out with all the time.

My work schedule for the first 6 weeks (BTW there are two sets of 6 weeks for the summer work program. and I'm working both of them.. It pays for my schooling.) was 9am to 5:30 and I was a housekeeper.. That meant I had to clean all the hotel rooms... The hotel rooms are like small beautiful apt. My schedule for the second six weeks (what I'm doing now) is 7am to 3:30... I am a Bell Staff. That means that I clean the whole building, give people tours, help them with there luggage and other stuff. I get Saturdays and Sundays off.. Yay! The first six weeks I got Monday and Tuesdays off.

After work everyday I study for a math plastment test I have to take during Character Camp (I"ll explain another time) then I go to supper around 5 and hang out with my friends. On Mondays I go to a bible study, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I work at my off campus job. Baby sitting at a church. On Thursday I do whatever I want, on Friday and Saturday I work from 3 to 11pm at Keeter doing banquets for extra cash... And Sundays I go swing dancing in the basement of our small chapel on campus (if I don't have to work banquets). When I say swing dancing it's more like we are learning how to swing dance. It's a lot of fun and during the school year it's actually a club that counts for school credits.. or something.

Well I have to go take a shower and study. I'll try and up date this again soon... Oh and one more thing, last night I went to the first school dance bash thingy dingy...whatever they call it. It was a lot of fun, though I am very tired today because of it...  Hehe

*Hugs everyone* I miss you all!

I LeAvE ToMoRrOw!

Heyo guys,

Yesterday was a bad day, one of the worst days I've had in a while, but now everything is okay. You know how things get when your parents are under stress. *sighs* I must be very special to cause them stress.

Today my mom, Punk and I went to the store to buy things for our 20 and however many hour trip tomorrow. I don't like shopping at all and it's been a really hot day, so that just made it worse. We also went to see my friend that couldn't make it to my party, I wanted to be able to say goodbye to her. Unfortunately she wasn't home, only her mom was. So her mom called her on the phone and said "I have a surprise for you, here is someone I want you to talk to." (except in Spanish of course) She handed me the phone and I talk to her for a little while then I passed the phone to Punk and they talked and then we left. Now that I think of it, we did that and then went shopping. lol!

Guess what we forgot to buy at the store. Batteries!!! Can you believe it? 20 whatever hours in a bus and no music! *hopes that somehow she can get some batteries before she leaves* Punk used all my batteries I had saved so now neither one of us has any.

I think we have to leave home at 1 to get there at 2 and then we leave on the bus at 2:30pm... I think .. I'm not really quite sure when the bus leaves, but my mom does so that's fine.

My dad has been moaning all day that his little girl is going to leave, and also that my mom will be away for 5 weeks (I think it's 5 weeks) so I got out my root beer I've been saving for a special time (we can't get it here in MX so it is special) and put it in two glasses with ice and a straw and my dad and I drank it together. Twas a lot of fun!

So... I'm really excited about going and I can't wait, or I can actually because it's tomorrow and all, but you know what I mean. My 'day bag' thingy isn't quite packed yet because i'm still using it, but mom keeps telling me to pack up and have everything ready so that I could leave that minute, and my dad says that the bus wont wait (as if I'm ever late to anything! ) and when I just look at them and don't really move they laugh and say that I must not really want to go! Hah! I do! Really and truly! *laughs*

This will be the last update for sometime I think, since I’m leaving for TX tomorrow and I don't really know when I'll be moving into my dorm room and I will be starting a job and making friends and getting to know the place, I don't know how much time I'll have. Though I'll try and make a quick update to let you all know I'm safe, as soon as I can.

Mood: Excited and happy, what else should I be?

Tuesday, May 08, 2007

Heyo guys,

Sunday went fine, I had a lot of fun with my one friend that came. My
mom had invited like 60 people and only 25 came. I was grateful
actually. I don't really like huge parties. I just wish my best Mexican
friend could have come (but since she came on Saturday, that was okay),
and my old neighbor friend (I might get to see her on Wednesday)... Oh
well.

I played tether ball till my arm hurt and then Pamela (My friend that
came) and I sat on the hammock over looking the lake and talked. People
gave me some very nice presents and they made me open them in front of
everyone, it was embarrassing, because everyone was looking at me.

My dad and mom also gave me a ring and some beautiful flowers!

Yesterday (Monday) I woke up showered and was getting ready to finish
up the packing in my room when my mom told me to get dressed and we
would go to Patzcuaro. So I did, and we went. Just my mom and I. We had
a lot of fun shopping (Though normally I detest shopping) eating out and
having some ice-cream! It was a super-duper time. Until we got back to
the place were our car was supposed to be. It wasn't there! We asked
someone selling things near by and they said that the police took our
car. After talking to several guards and police dudes I finally figured
out what had happened and where our car was. (my mom couldn't understand
what they said, probably because she was worried. So I had to do all the
talking. *shudders*) We got in a Taxi and went to the place were we have
to pay to get our car back, then we went to where our car was supposed
to be, it wasn't so we had to go to another place. The Taxi guy was
really nice and told me that this happens to everyone. In fact it had
happened to him just last week. The reason we got it taken away was
because we were parked in the wrong place. There are no signs or anyway
to know we weren't supposed to park there, which is way it happens all
the time to everyone. The police do it to get money. I know, that's just
terrible.

Anyways, an hour after we discovered our car was gone we got it back
and were on our way home. That was the end of our adventure.

As for my room, it's all finished (and if I've said that before it's
because it keeps seeming to be finished, until I unpack things so I can
use them. *laughs*). After my mom and I got back from Patzcuaro we went
in my room and packed everything up. This time it will stay packed. It's
all in the living room now. I didn't even have a pillow to sleep with!
Till I ran out to the living room and stole my pillow back from my
guitar who was using it to protect it's self. Punk's pictures are
already on my walls and her clothes are in my drawers. *sighs*

That's about all I have to say for now, except that I'm now 17! Yay for
birthdays. Not that I feel any older or anything, but maybe tomorrow.
